a very merry christmas and a happy new year

Whew. December flew by. I was busy with Christmas craftiness, our school holiday fair, Magoo's dance recital, OT appointments, and Oh yeah - we had a stomach virus that effected everyone in the family. On top of that we just spent a week in Michigan with the hubby's family celebrating Christmas. Today we celebrated Christmas with my family (and missed my sister who's partying with Bret Michaels tonight). Tomorrow we're back to the routine, turning the calendar page, and getting ready for a new year ahead.

  • I have grand plans to do some more decluttering.  As we come home from vacation things get piled up around the house and it's easy to see that some things have to go.  The kids have new toys and clothes and it's time to donate some of the old.  The hubby and I are losing weight and need new clothes ourselves.  I've just about gotten rid of all my "fat" clothes but it's worth another dive into the closet to rid myself of space-stealing  and energy-stealing junk.
  • I've been eating Paleo for a year now and feel better than I ever have.  I want to start the year off right and I'm doing that with another round of Whole 30.  Not only am I doing this for myself this January but I'm supporting my sister-in-law who's doing her first round of Whole 30 and I can't wait for it to change her life.  It's such a great feeling.
  • The
  • My biggest plan for the new year is to finally learn to use my sewing machine and be able to use it for Christmas craftiness 2012.  I've had my sewing machine since my birthday in July and haven't had a chance to use it AT ALL.  That has got to change.  This Mom needs to make some sweet little clothes for my kiddos, Halloween costumes, and doll clothes...I could go on.  I just need to.  That is all.
  • Also, I plan to get back into posting more often.  After my December hiatus, I'm back.  I'll be posting recipes, craftiness, and familial updates more often.  It's just good therapy.

All that being written, I'll take a cup of kindness yet for auld lang syne. This Mom Loves the fresh start of the new year but knows better than to stay up way past my bedtime. Those kids will be up before 6AM whether or not I'm ready for them. Happy New Year to all and to all a good night.
