new beginnings

I love Fall. Okay I know it's not Fall yet but Magoo had her first day of kindergarten today so it may as well be Fall. Despite the fact that everything is shutting down for Winter, Fall really is a time of new beginnings for me. My daughters were born end of Summer/Fall, I married my true love in the fall, and of course the school year begins in the fall.
Magoo was very excited for school. She ate all her breakfast, got dressed right away, and went right to the car when I asked her too. She usually gets distracted along the way even though it's only five feet from the house to the garage. We got to the school and I greated her new teacher, Ms. M. with a handshake and "good morning." I looked at my big girl and said, "Can I have a kiss?" She gave me a kiss, looked at me and said, "Bye." Then she smiled, waived, and ran off to the playground. She was so confident it made me feel more confident.
When I picked her up she told me about her day and that her favorite part was walking to the pond to feed the ducks kernels of corn. Throughout the afternoon she'd chime in with more information about her morning. It sounds like she had a good time.
I gave the girls a bath before dinner tonight because we had been tending the garden and everyone was grubby. They played and giggled until it was time to get out and get dressed. Junior was so tired from skipping her afternoon nap the she could no longer stand it and faught me while I wrestled her jammies on. Magoo was a little easier to wrangle. She got right into her jammies and climbed into bed. "I want you to tuck me in and tell me a story Mom," she said. "Don't you want dinner first?" "No, I'm tired," she said and climbed under the covers. I made her a deal that I'd come back and tell her an extra-long story if she was quiet and stayed in her room while I put Junior down. "Okay." Junior went right to sleep and I went back to tell a couple short stories (one about a fawn named Jaqueline and one about and elephant fairy) instead of one long one. She came out once after I left her but went right back to her room when I asked and was asleep in minutes.
It was a busy day here. I wonder what tomorrow with bring and look forward to hearing stories from day two of waldorf kindergarten. It's so exciting to see my daughter so excited. This Mom Loves our new Waldorf family and the excitement that comes with new beginnings.

my babies

My girlies are growing up before my eyes. Magoo starts kindergarten tomorrow. I'm so nervous and excited. Junior turns one tomorrow. This year just flew by. I truly love watching my girls grow, change and aquire skills. It's fun to watch their personalities unfolding. I love them so. This Mom Loves her girls...more that little chocolate cookies with white stuff in the middle.
